Best Time to Visit Shirdi

The best time to visit Shirdi is between October and February, because the weather remains pleasant throughout the day. You can easily head out for sightseeing without having to worry about the scorching sun or chilly air. There are certain festivals also when Shirdi experiences a huge visitor influx. Some of these include Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, and Gudi Padwa. If you want to avoid tourist crowds, you can also plan your trip during the summer season (April-June). These months are considered the shoulder season due to the rising temperature. But it is not recommended to plan your Shirdi tour in monsoon months. In July and August, the town receives moderate to heavy rainfall, which makes it difficult to go from one place to another.

Experience The Best Of Shirdi

Here is a list of all the major attractions in the town that you’ll find in the itinerary of every Shirdi local tourism package:

Sai Baba Temple

Commonly referred to as Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir, this place is the major attraction in the town. Located in the heart of Shirdi, this temple was originally built in 1922. It is believed that Sai Baba came to the town at the age of 16 and remained there till he was absorbed in Samadhi. Being an important part of Shirdi tourism, this temple is visited by a large number of devotees on a daily basis. This is the place where his mortal remains are interred. Although the temple remains open on all days of the week, it experiences the highest visitor influx on Thursday, as it is considered auspicious by Sai Baba followers. A total of 4 aartis (prayer meetings) are held here on a daily basis, which are Kakad Aarti (4:30 am), Madhyan Aarti (12:00 pm), Dhup Aarti (6:30 pm), and Shej Aarti (10:30 pm).

Dwarkamai

If you’re visiting Shirdi to seek blessings from Sai Baba, this is another important place you should definitely visit. Before Sai Baba arrived in this town, this building was home to an old mosque, but he turned it into a holy place of worship for people of all faiths. Despite being in a crumbling state, Dwarkamai is still held in great regard and visited by a large number of devotees.

Sai Teerth Theme Park

This is India's first devotional theme park, where you can experience the perfect blend of faith, innovation, technology, and entertainment. Located at a small distance from the Sai Baba temple, this place is immensely popular among tourists as well as locals. This theme park is open on all days of the week, and timing is from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Here, you can enjoy a number of events and laser shows that will give you a glimpse into the life of Sri Sai Baba.

Dixit Wada Museum

If you want to learn more about Sai Baba and his teachings, this is a place you shouldn’t miss. This awe-inspiring museum boasts a large collection of artefacts that showcase the life and times of Sai Baba. It is known for its rare collections of black and white photographs of Sai Baba. Other than this, you can also find Sai Baba’s kafni, leather padukas, cooking utensils, and bathing stones on display.
