The World in my Photo Album   

For many years, I have been enjoying the wonders of tourism, exploring the diverse states of India and various countries around the globe. What draws me most to this experience is the incredible variety each place offers. A special aspect of my travels has been capturing the essence of nature and man-made wonders in the photos I've taken during my journeys. Being somewhat 'old school,' I prefer physical photo prints over digital ones, which is why I can proudly say that my adventures truly fill a 'photo album of the world.' 

I live in Latur and book my tours through Veena World's local partner, ‘Sahyadri Tours.’ I find Veena World to be a reliable companion for international travel. Since 2017, I’ve been a loyal traveler with them, completing around three tours each year. In 2024, I set a goal to visit 25 countries, and I’m happy to share that not only did I achieve this, but I’ve surpassed it, having now visited 27 countries! Alongside my international travels, I’ve explored 12 states and Union Territories of India. 

For me, travel is a form of relaxation. Exploring different landscapes refreshes both the body and mind, and it offers the added joy of learning about new cultures and ways of life. 

While I don't have a 'left-right' approach to ranking my favourite places, my most memorable international trip was to Australia. I will never forget the stunning coral world of the Great Barrier Reef, which I had the pleasure of seeing on my 2018 trip. On the domestic front, I was deeply impressed by the royal palaces and historic forts of Rajasthan. The way the people there have preserved Rajputana traditions and culture truly fascinated me.  

I also hold fond memories of my trip to Kerala, with its breath-taking greenery, serene backwaters, and vibrant wildlife. After visiting Assam, Meghalaya, and Sikkim, I now feel drawn to explore the rest of the north-eastern states, and I hope to visit places like Jharkhand and Vaishno Devi in Jammu next. In the upcoming year, Bhutan is my next destination. Packing my bags and setting off on new adventures has become an essential part of my life.

If you're a fan of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ or ‘The Hobbit’, a visit to the 'Hobbiton Movie Set' is a must, where these iconic films were shot. 

Another unforgettable experience is dolphin watching near the Bay of Islands, close to Auckland. On this tour, you’ll get the chance to interact with these playful creatures. 

On the South Island, adventure kicks up a notch. You can embark on a thrilling whale-watching cruise in Kaikoura, one of the best places in the world to spot whales. Two must-do activities include a helicopter ride over the Franz Josef Glacier and the scenic Trans-Alpine train journey. Self-drive tours are another great way to explore the stunning landscapes, as New Zealand boasts top-quality roads. Plus, they drive on the left, just like us, so you’ll feel right at home behind the wheel. In Queenstown, known as the Adventure Capital of the World, you can try your hand at bungee jumping, skydiving, jet boating, and skiing. For wine lovers, Marlborough on the South Island is a premier wine region where you can enjoy a wine tour and taste some award-winning selections.
