Know The Unknown

In the United Kingdom, a group of four countries is known by the name 'England', which is the largest in size and population among them. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, England features diverse natural landscapes ranging from lush green hills to towering peaks. Among these, the most beautiful is the 'Lake District' in North West England, famous for its picturesque lakes, alongside mountains, rivers, and coastal areas. Within this Lake District National Park lies the highest mountain in England, called 'Scafell Pike'. This area includes a total of sixteen lakes and several tarns. Technically, only one lake in the Lake District is actually called a 'lake', while others are termed 'mere' or 'water'. Examples include Buttermere, Grassmere, Rydal Water, and Ullswater, each known for their unique characteristics.

Among them, the longest, largest, and deepest water body in terms of water volume is Windermere Lake. The name 'Windermere' has sparked many debates; originally, it might have been 'Vinandar Mere' or 'Vaynendmere'. In old English, the word 'mere' means 'lake', hence the use. Windermere is shaped like a boomerang and is a deep, expansive lake, estimated to have been formed around 15 to 17 thousand years ago. Windermere stretches about 18 kilometers in length, with a width of up to 2 kilometers. At 128 feet above sea level, it reaches a depth of 210 feet at its deepest points. The lake is dotted with 18 islands locally known as 'holms', the largest of which spans approximately 40 acres. The lakeside villages of Windermere are connected by passenger ferry boat services, which have operated since before the arrival of railways. Today, the 'Windermere Lake Cruises' service is also available.

This region, home to poets of the 19th century Romantic Period, is best known for William Wordsworth, the most famous among them. Even the renowned writer Oscar Wilde drew inspiration from this region's countryside for his plays. The encircling hills create a perfect backdrop, making the natural scenery a delight for the eyes. A visit to Windermere in England's Lake District is considered a must. Whether visiting London, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, or exploring the shores of Veena World, a visit to the Lake District is essential.

Veena World Travel Mission
To travel is to live

“For us, travelling means exploring. We have always enjoyed tourism, even in our seventies, exploring various tourist destinations worldwide. "Travelling means exploring" is our mantra. Thanks to the excellent guidance of Veena World, we, Girish Doshi and my wife Kalpana, have embarked on our global journey. We have explored about 58 countries worldwide since we concluded our research with Veena World in 2018 and began traveling with them. Today, we have booked some tours, including South Korea and Taiwan during this fall season, which we find particularly enjoyable. What we like most about Veena World is their well-organized tour programs that cover all the important places in the cities we visit, leaving nothing out. Even though we are not Maharashtrians by birth, we never feel out of place on their tours. The tour managers always take care to keep the entire group together. It's heartening to know that the number of international tourists traveling with Veena World has been increasing over the past few years. I personally enjoy shopping during tours. At each location, I make sure to bring home a souvenir for my grandchildren. Even my friends recommend Veena World tours.” - Mr. Girish Doshi and Mrs. Kalpana Doshi, Andheri Mumbai.

Perfect combination
Veena World Customized Holidays

The best combination of tourism in historical places and natural wonders can be experienced in a single holiday. If you want such a holiday, Greece and Turkey are the best options in Europe. Greece has more archaeological museums and UNESCO's 18 sites than any other country, so more tourists visit Greece every year.

The undisputed part of Greece's holiday is the 'Aegean Islands'. These islands include Santorini, Hydra, Kos, and Lesvos. These islands are famous for their natural beauty, such as the famous views of Iya and Phira in Santorini, where you can relax in the lap of nature. You can also enjoy the famous 'Volcanic Wines' there and enjoy the view of Caldera and the Aegean Sea from the private infinity pool of your hotel. The most remarkable thing about Greece's natural beauty is watching the sunset here. In Hydra, vehicles are not allowed on the island, but you can experience traditional 'donkey rides' or take a bicycle ride.

If you want to see the underwater museum in Greece, visit the Alonissos National Marine Park and be sure to visit the waterlogged museums. The Turkish coast along the Aegean Sea is Turkey. Turkey is a country located on both continents of Europe and Asia. Here, Baklava and Strong Coffee are famous worldwide. Turkey's 'Cappadocia' is known as the land of 'fairy chimneys'. Rocks, hills, and caves created by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago are visible here. These soft rocks used to be cities in ancient times. Today, you can experience the city here, which is better than any hotel in the region.

Turkey's 'Pamukkale' is like a natural sculpture. Here, hot water from underground springs has come out and has formed shapes like terraces, hills, and pools. The large shapes created from carbonate minerals flowing from the hills. 'Cotton Castle' in Turkey is located in the luxury spa near the nearby Pamukkale and has medicinal properties in its mineral water. If you want to experience a royal bath in public baths called 'Hammams', such as those in Istanbul's historic alleys, you can also taste a variety of delicious dishes at Michelin-starred restaurants. You can also enjoy the experience of crossing the Bosphorus and riding a hot air balloon at sunrise like.

If you want to experience such a great combination of heritage and nature, then Greece and Turkey. The Veena World Customized Holidays team is here for you.

What to See? How to See?
Gujarat and Rajasthan

Gujarat is a state of businessmen and Rajasthan is a state of finance and accountants. That means Rajasthan was the first to find out what work they did, meaning they had done a very good job of history-present-future. The history of the castles, sculpture, folk art, traditions, and culture recognized the importance of grandeur and began to attract tourists from abroad. For the future, India has not been known, but for the rest of the world, it has been working for hundreds of years, but Rajasthan has also done it for hundreds of years. We have also seen Rajasthan many times because there was an idea called 'Ye Dil Mangin More of Rajasthan'. The opposite of Rajasthan is Gujarat. The focus of businessmen is so much that tourism is a bit of a sideline like Maharashtra. We want to take tours in many places in India, but there are no tours in Gujarat. Sometimes we want to visit Dwaraka Somnathvadi Saurashtra. But in the last five-seven years, Gujarat has become a 'must visit destination'. Your state has undergone comprehensive development and the importance of tourism can play a role, which the contemporary government realized there and then played the 'Run of Kachch, Sahara…

‘Exchange a coin and you make no difference but exchange a thought and you can change the world.’ Hi! I’m Veena Patil... Fortunate enough to have answered my calling some 40+ years ago and content enough to be in this business of delivering happiness almost all my life. Tourism indeed moulds you into a minimalist... Places and people are two things that interest me the most. While places have taken care of themselves, here are my articles through which I can share some interesting stories I live and love on a daily basis with all you wonderful people out there. I hope you enjoy the journey... Let’s go, celebrate life!
