Refreshing Recharge 

Tourism takes you out of your routine, widens the scope of your experience, and allows you to see new regions, taste new foods, and glimpse different cultures. This is why we consider tourism a refreshing recharge. We both have a deep passion for travel and tourism, so we ensure to go on at least two tours a year. As Punekars, we are naturally selective about where to travel and who to travel with. In 2014, we took our first trip to Himachal with Veena World, and since then, we have formed an unbreakable bond with them. So far, we have undertaken about eleven trips with Veena World, exploring 17 countries over the last ten years. Among these, our trip to Scandinavia stands out as unforgettable. The northern part of Europe is surrounded by breath-taking nature, and the unique view of Bergen in Norway remains vivid in our minds. The cruise through Bergen, known as the "Fjord Capital," is etched in our memory forever. 

We have a unique approach to tourism: once we start exploring a continent, we take trips to multiple countries within that continent in succession. This is how we explored Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Europe, and Scandinavia. In India, our favourite tourist destination is Rajasthan. The state, with its royal charm and unique natural beauty, invites visitors with its "Padharo Mhare Des" spirit. We were captivated by the luxurious palaces and magnificent forts. While we believe that each tourist destination has its own special features and cannot be compared to others, Rajasthan holds a special place in our hearts. 

The tour managers on all our Veena World tours have been affectionate, helpful, and knowledgeable. Among them, Siddesh Vedapathak stands out for his cheerful nature, which made our experience even more memorable.

Ngorongoro Crater – Tanzania

Located on the eastern coast of Africa along the Indian Ocean, Tanzania is world-famous for its diverse wildlife. The country was formed by the amalgamation of Tanganyika and Zanzibar, hence the name Tanzania. Home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, Tanzania is also known for its wildlife sanctuary, the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the world's largest inactive and unfilled volcanic caldera, where Tanzania's wildlife can be found thriving.

The crater is home to Africa's Big Five: elephants, rhinos, lions, buffaloes, and leopards. These majestic creatures can be easily spotted during a private game drive at the crater’s floor. Luxury lodges are situated at the crater's edge, offering stunning views from private decks and plunge pools. For a thrilling adventure, you can embark on a guided walking safari, spending three to four days exploring the forest with a knowledgeable guide, staying in tents, and getting an up-close look at the wildlife. Night safaris offer a chance to witness the nocturnal life of the crater's wildlife, providing a unique forest experience. 

For those interested in culture and heritage, a visit to a Maasai village and its archaeological site is highly recommended. From helicopter tours to crater rim walks, there are numerous ways to enhance your Ngorongoro holiday. The crater is only a four-hour drive from Arusha or a one-and-a-half-hour flight from Arusha to Lake Manyara's airstrip.

Our Neighboring Countries! 

When considering weekend getaways, we often look for destinations within a two-hour travel time. Many tourists adopt a similar mind-set for international travel, seeking destinations they can reach in two to five hours. It's often said, "Look for direct flights on the horizon," but this isn't always possible for distant countries due to various reasons. However, we can easily reach our neighbouring countries by direct flights. Countries within the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) region, such as Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, are accessible within five hours by direct flight. Just as India is full of diversity, our neighbouring countries also offer unique experiences that draw us to them. 

Consider our close neighbours, Nepal and Bhutan. Both are nestled in the Himalayas, yet the joy of visiting each country as a tourist is distinct. Similarly, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, located in the Indian Ocean to our south, offer completely different experiences. In Southeast Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong each have their unique charm and tourism offerings. To our west, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar are now heavily focusing on tourism. With the realization that their oil reserves are finite, these countries are striving to excel in tourism, often engaging in friendly competition to create the best experiences. 

This competitive spirit benefits tourists as each country aims to offer something unique and superior. Recently, direct flight routes have expanded to include Middle Eastern and bordering European countries. So, Chalo, Bag Bharo, Nikal Pado… With Veena World!
