The region of Kasaragod was a significant trading centre since the 9th century and the Arab traders frequently visited the coast between the 9th and 14th centuries to obtain spices and other precious items. So if you are a person who is fond of history then adding Bekal travel packages to your list of exploration might be just what you need for a spark. As we progress with the timeline we see that after the 14th century, European traders invaded the region which then followed the decline of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire in the battle of Talikota in 1565. To lose yourself while you immerse in the trip can be a profound experience that Bekal packages could offer. It is also believed that the dance traditions of Theyyam have stories and narratives that depict the conflict between the Kolathiri and the Vijayanagara rulers.

The Nayakas rose to prominence in the Bekal region as they understood its political and economic importance which led them to turn the region into a military base just so they could exert their power over the Malabar Coast. The Chandragiri fort which is located nearby was also constructed during this period with laterite rocks and houses an eye-catching watchtower which gives you another reason to choose Bekal vacation packages for sightseeing or simply exploring.

The continuous war and effort over the years for power and control came to a halt for the time being in the 18th century when Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore dominated the entire Kerala and brought all other forts under his control including Bekal. Apart from sightseeing planning your holiday with Bekal packages can enhance your insight of the stories we tell and the stories we see. Subsequently, after the death of Hyder Ali in 1782, Tipu Sultan took over the kingdom and built a strong military base with an observation tower. However, he died in 1799 after he fought valiantly with the British and Bekal fell into the hands of the East India Company.
